History

Equiinet was founded in 1998 and pioneered the manufacture of extremely secure server appliances. NetPilot, the UTM (Unified Threat Management) multifunctional security device, saw huge success in the network security industry due to its robust reliability as a primary network gateway defence solution for SMEs.

After aproximately 5 years, Equiinet had sold 30,000 NetPilots and following on from the success of NetPilot, Equiinet further developed the concept into a range of products, all using the now well established ‘Pilot’ brand. Further popular product introductions included CachePilot, BackupPilot and ServerPilot. When Equiinet reached the Education market, they pushed over 12,000 boxes into the industry and CachePilot became the biggest selling product of its type in the Education market.

In 2006, Equiinet was placed 85th in the Times Top Tech 100 fastest growing companies.

More recently, Equiinet has been involved in a series of Merger & Acquisitions in support of their latest TinaPilot product.

TinaPilot is the latest addition to the Equiinet family of products and has been specifically developed for SME businesses and schools that are looking for all the latest communication technologies packaged into a simple product that is easy to understand and use.
